A 26 year old ULFA being apprehended and produced to the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today. The youth identified as Padum Rabha was arrested last night at Balapara under Boko Police Station after he was being chased under intelligence information.
The police traced the ULFA cadre who was residing in a hide out in the village with special force last night. Later on Padum Rabha admitted his involvement with the 109 Battalion of the banned ULFA outfit and directed the security to the hide out of one ready to blast explosive. Police found huge quality of RDX, one PTD which was attached to Detonator according to Rabha’s information from a nearby place. Rabha also revealed that he was also trained specially to conduct explosions.
Security source revealed that Padum Rabha was being assigned to make the blast before the Independence Day celebration in the state capital and was ready to act soon. The high alert in the region ahead of the I-Day celebration lead to arrest this ULFA man when there are more informations of other miscreants too and they have been acting on them to make a safe I-Day celebration in Assam, stated Debojit Hazarika of Kamrup Police. However, CJM court has directed the police to take Padum under custody.
