Security seeks Public support before I-Day in Assam

With the coming of the Independence Day celebration, Assam state security is beefing up with full gear to maintain the Peace in the state and the
region. After recieving the order form the Centre, Assam security
departments issued a parallel and high tech securtiy system before the
Independence Day celebration as the banned outfit ULFA can give a major
strike with their insurgent activities, released the Assam
Police Headquarters.

“We have declared the 144 situation in the state and bestowed a high
security in the state. The roads and rivers and the railway tracks are under special protocol now with the coming of the I-Day celebration as ULFA has instances to strike the state before it earlier. The checking of the passers has been done mandatory and the pillion riding is prohibited now. CRPF and Assam Police is being instructed to comb the roads for any miscreants”, informed the Headquarter.

The Barhanmaputra is being flowing through the state and the militants have always used it as an easy pass. The Security this time has also included the river to patrol with motor boats daily, said Bhaskar jyoit Mahanta, Spokesperson Assam Police who also added that the GRPF and the Railway Police being also directed to scan the railway tracks with full
vigilance. “The Brahmaputra is the longest route that anybody can have in
the state and no doubt that the outfits are using it. We have less high
equipped boats and so till date the motor boats are the only means of our
patrillong. We are strongly shortage of man power but still trying to scan
the rivers and the sailers but without public help our effort cant reach the ultimate point”, expressed Ebrahim Ali, Circle Officer, Brahmaputra Circle.

“The insurgent have already done a Major destruction in Bangaluru,
Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Assam is no safe. The ministry has directed to extend
the highest level of security before the I-Day celebration in the state.
Sniffer Dogs, Bomb Tralers, Special Squads are being prepared to cop with
any such situations”, informed Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister of Assam during a meeting last week.

“We have also put CC TVs to monitor the Railway platforms and the tracks and a special force to act with no time. The rivers are under our protocol and the city roads too. The most Blast prone areas like Fancy Bazar, Ganeshguri and other parts of the state like Nalbari, Tinsukia are under special eye. But the security system cant do it alone and the department seeks the public support and initiatives to help the security people to maintain Peace and Harmony in the region”, stated Bhanskar Mahanta and the ministery of state Home .

“We have arrested a few of them with high tech gazettes and explosives who
came to the city for operations and the search is still on full swing, we
don’t want to take any chances and so instruct all of our departments to be vigil”, said Assam DGP RN Mathur. However, a grande blast at Bongaigon district of Assam last night by suspected ULFA sustained the panic atmosphere in the region.
